On the 17th February 2002, at a car boot sale on the site of Gloucester
Cattle Market, one of the sellers was displaying a cast iron milestone
plate for sale. "To Stafford 9 miles, Wolverhampton 7 miles". Using an
old
Ordnance Survey Map, I have deduced that it belongs on the A449
here. The grid reference is 391300 309200. Perhaps the stone to which it was attached is still in
position? |
