Charles and Sarah (nee Dominey) Parkhouse lived near her parents' parish of Thurlbear, near Taunton, where they had married in 1863, until after the birth of their first child, Emily, in 1864. By 1866, they had moved to Puriton, near Bridgwater, Somerset, where they were to remain for the rest of their lives, both being buried in Puriton churchyard, having raised 10 children.
