This Indenture made the Second Day of September in the Year of our
Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Eight Between Samuel Bass of
Lympston in the County of Devon Shipwright of the one part and Thomas
Bass of Teignmouth in the said County Shipwright of the other part
Witnesseth That the said Samuel Bass for & in consideration
of the sum of five shillings of lawfull Money of Great Britain to him in
hand paid by the said Thomas Bass at the Execution hereof The Receipt
whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath Bargained and Sold by these presents
doth Bargain and Sell unto the said Thomas Bass his Exors Admors and
Assigns
All that the Undivided Moiety or Halfendeal of All that one
Messuage or Dwellinghouse containing three Dwellings under one Roof and also
a Working Collar Situation on Lympstone Strand in Lympston aforesaid now or
late in the several possession of the said Samuel Bass William Davis
and Joseph Nutt with a Moiety of the two little Gardens thereto
belonging
Together also with the undivided Moiety of
so mutch[?] of the two plotts of Ground thereunto adjoining commonly called
the Green the Beaton Plott as were heretofore in the Possession of
Dorothy Bass Deceased since of John Bass deced Father
of the said Samuel Bass and Thomas Bass and now of the said
Samuel Bass & Thomas Bass or of their Undertenants
And also all that the undivided Moiety of the Reversion
Inheritance in Fee of All those four Dwellings Orchard and Garden and four
acres of Land thereunto belonging Situate in Lympston aforesaid and now in
the Possession of the said Thomas Hare & of his Undertenants And the
Reversion and Reversions Remainder Rents Issues Profits Suits and Services
thereof & of every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their
Appurtenances
To Have and to Hold the said undivided Lands & Premises hereby
Bargained and Sold or intended so to be and every part & parcel thereof with
the Apputenances unto the said Thomas Bass his Exors Admors & Assigns
from the Day of the date hereof for and during and until the full end & Term
of one whole Year from thenceforth next ensuing and fully to be compleat and
ended Yielding and Paying therefore unto the said Samuel Bass his
Heirs and Assigns one Pepper Corn at the end of the said Term if the same
shall be lawfully Demanded To the Intent that by Virtue of these Presents
and by force of the Statute made for Transferring of Uses into Possession he
the said Thomas Bass may be in the actual Possession of all &
Singular the said Promises above Bargained and Sold with their & every of
their Appurts and be thereby enabled to take & Accept of a Grant and Release
of the Reversion Inheritance thereof to him and his heirs To the only proper
Use and behoof of the said Thomas Bass his heirs & Assigns forever
