To be sold by public auction or private contract the fee-simple and
inheritance either together or separate of
1. All the dwelling house, garden, cellar, and field of about one acre,
together with a plot of ground on which a lime kiln now stands, situate on
the Strand Lympstone aforesaid.
The dwelling house and garden now in possession of ...... Chown; and the
field & lime kiln plot of Samuel BASS, shipbuilder - these premises are well
situated for business and are capable of improvements.
A public sale will be held for the above premises at the Swan Inn, in
Lympstone on Saturday the 27 June instant between 4 and 5 in the afternoon
if not before sold by private contract, and of which due notice will be
given.
For viewing the premises apply to the several tenants, and for further
particulars to messrs Williams & Follett Attorneys in Exeter. 4 June 1795.

Topsham DEV to Ship & House builders
For sale by public auction, on Wednesday the 19th instant, and following
day, to begin at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, all the stock in trade of
messrs BASS and BISHOP, shipbuilders consisting of a large quantity of oak &
elm timber, crown fir, danzig, &c, oak & elm plank, 3 inch 2 feet deck
deals, 2 1/2" 36 feet ditto, slabs & rough timber, large copper furnace &
steam kiln, 2 pair of smiths bellows, sundry tools, ring & set bolts, old
iron & nails, pitch, tar, oakum & cordage, one good draught horse, one pair

The commisioners in a commision of bankruptcy hearing dated the 28th day
of April 1798 awarded & issued forth against John BASS, of Teignmouth in the
county of DEV, shipwright, dealer and chapman, intend to meet on the 29th
day of August instant at 3 0'clock in the afternoon, at Hubbards Hotel, in
Teignmouth aforesaid, to make a dividend of the estate and effects of the
said bankrupt. When & where the creditors who have not already proved their
debts, are to come prepared to prove the same; or they will be excluded the
benefit of the said dividend; and all claims not then proved will be
disallowed
